Our Mother’s Home is a program for keeping teen foster mothers and their children together, breaking the foster cycle, teaching transitioning skills, and overcoming histories of abuse. Sixteen teen mothers who are under the age of eighteen and their children live at the home. Thank you for donating items to Our Mother’s Home.
FOOTSTEPS TO THE FUTURE
GCDHA Members voted to adopt two young ladies at Future to the Future. Footsteps to the Future, Inc., is a program dedicated to assisting local young women as they make their huge transition from foster care to the real world. The program has a unique one-to- one-life coaching/mentoring/empowerment program to assist the individuals to become self-sufficient and ultimately themselves become leaders and role models in the community. Maria Sica, 19, and her three year old son, David transitioned from Our Mother’s Home to Footsteps to the Future. She would like to be a nurse after she completes testing to achieve her high school diploma. Jenny Morriset, 20, is in her second year of the nursing program at Edison State College.
