President's Message
January 12, 2012 Dear Members and Fellow RDH’s, With this New Year upon us, I am excited for the opportunities ahead for the Gulf Coast Dental Hygiene Association. We have so many dedicated members and I am reaching out to them and all of my fellow RDH’s. The GCDHA has contributed to the community and I would like to further our past and present efforts. Our community needs and wants our help. I do ask that each dental hygienist contribute to our local Gulf Coast Dental Hygiene Association to aid in our efforts to better our community, provide oral health education, and expand our scope of practice. Currently, The Gulf Coast Dental Hygiene Association aids in the following organizations: Our Mother’s Home, Head Start, Act, SADHA, and participates in Smile Day at Edison State College. These above organizations are so very vital to the Lee County community. The GCDHA takes great pride in our community involvement and we would like to donate to other organizations this year as well. On a state level, our donations to the FDHA and ADHA have made many of our professional aspirations come to fruition. From local anesthesia, to providing dental care and education to others who can’t afford dental treatment, these are just a few examples of the achievements that FDHA has helped our profession achieve. A portion of our local donations go toward greater causes to better our profession and the people that we serve. We are asking for $30 from each member, but any dollar amount is accepted and valued. We are always accepting donations at each meeting or you can send it in the mail to our post office box at GCDHA, PO Box 62076, Ft. Myers, Florida 33906-2076. My last thoughts are a quoted that has inspired me; hope it inspires you as well! Respectfully,
